The game will introduce you to making considered decisions, harmonising saving and spending, and trading in securities. The game is targeted at 13–17-year-olds, and is free for everyone to play.

Duration: 45–60 minutes

 

Ready-made lessons

 

The game can also be played during lessons under the tuition of teachers. You’ll find five ready-made lessons at the bottom of this page. The Moneymaster exercises are ready-made lessons but they can also be done separately. You can play one or more game sections with your students and do the associated exercises.

Moneymaster has been designed and implemented by Economy and Youth TAT, Nordea, and the Finnish Foundation for Share Promotion. The game studio 10Monkeys has been in charge of technical implementation.

      • You get 200 euros to spend. Choose how you want to spend it and prepare a budget. Suitable budgetary themes are e.g. a birthday party, a trip, a camp or a weekend at a cottage.

Lesson 5

Episode “Interest on interest”

    • What’s the difference between a savings account and investing?
    • Exercise: You get 10 euros per week. That adds up to 520 euros per year. How much money will you have in
      • 20 years
      • 30 years
      • 40 years if you deposit the money in a savings account with an annual interest rate of 1–2% or if you invest the money and the annual return is 5% on average?
